The sky is unbroken unlike my soul.
It changes, from blue to black and back to grey. Endlessly healing, heaving, reconciling all that might be with all that is, before it screams back to what once was.
Somewhere there is a dawn–a painful spear of light that clears the way but that day is not today and that night is not yet here.
So tell me what you know, or what you think you know. Tell me that yesterday is really gone and that tomorrow is yet to happen.
And let me laugh.
My eyes crinkle –dear God I need it–my lungs fill with air under the pale blue sky, only to empty again and let my laughter mingle in the day.
I laugh because you are wrong. You and your optimism, your bright ambivalence. They know no bounds…not like me.
